Alster Lake Clinic was founded by Professor Fred Fändrich, a university professor of surgery and long‐standing Clinic Director at the University Hospital Schleswig‐Holstein in Kiel, Germany. He is a leading academic transplant surgeon with a focus on transplantation medicine and transplant rejection, combining extensive clinical experience with experimental research into how the immune system can be steered to protect organs and tissues.

At Kiel University he founded and built the Institute for Cell Biology and Cell Therapy, where his team showed that peripheral blood monocytes can be reprogrammed into “programmable cells of monocytic origin” with stem‐cell‐like properties that can modulate immune responses and support tissue regeneration.

This scientific work is documented in numerous peer‐reviewed publications on monocyte‐based cell therapy, immune modulation and cell‐based strategies to minimise immunosuppression. On this basis, Professor Fändrich established Alster Lake Clinic as a centre for cell‐based therapies targeting healthy aging, prevention of age‐related diseases and chronic conditions, and has treated thousands of patients who often return for long‐term, personalised care.

From this background emerged Alster Lake Clinic’s core treatment concepts: monocyte cell therapy and VSEL (Very Small Embryonic‐Like) stem cell therapy, both embedded in a framework of bio‐organic infusions.
